M3. Pre-Judging Format
- There are three rounds: Swim Wear, Sports Wear, and Evening Wear. Each round is worth 33.3 percent of the total score.
- Swim Wear Round
- Athletes will be called out to the stage individually to walk across the stage and perform a series of turns.
The walk and the types of turns (1/4, 1/2, 3 point) are up to the athlete and should be reflective of their own style and personality.
Following this, athletes will be called out in a group and will line up side by side on stage.
At this time the athletes are ranked and scored against each other. The Head Judge will call out '1/4 turn to the right'. This will be completed 4 times so that the athlete will stand facing the judges, the back wall and the sides of the stage.
Athletes should practice their walk, personal turns and 1/4 turns as this is all a part of the judging. Overall, judges are looking for personality and a fit physique with excellent muscle tone and symmetry.
- Sports Wear Round
- This round follows the same format as the Swimsuit Round. Athletes select their own clothing and should pay attention to styles, colors, patterns and fits that flatter and accentuate their fit body.
Competitors are permitted (and encouraged) to wear themed outfits that show off their personality and individual style. Past athletes have worn sports uniforms, cheerleading outfits and cowboy costumes, as an example.
During this round competitors can incorporate accessories and footwear that complement their choice of clothing (eg. high heels, tennis shoes or inline skates).
In this round judges look at each competitor's physique, fitness, personal style and athleticism.
- Evening Wear Round
- This round follows the same format as the Swim Wear and Sporst Wear rounds. Evening wear should consist of a flattering style, classy, open back if possible.
Heels are to be worn and hair should be up to show back physique. Colour, padding, style and use of sequins are permitted.
